Abstract: One reason for this error is that the client is using a SQLLink driver that has local access to InterBase only.
When trying to connect via BDE the following error is generated:
"product remote interface not licensed"
The information in this article applies to:
* InterBase v4.x
* InterBase v5.x
* Borland Delphi v2.x, v3.x, v4.x
* Borland C++ Builder 1.x, 3.x
One reason for this error is that the client is using a SQLLink driver
that has local access to InterBase only. This SQLLink driver
comes with Delphi Developer and C++ Builder Professional.
This particular SQLLink driver will not allow remote access to
an Interbase database.
Upgrade the SQLLink driver for InterBase to one that does support
remote access. This driver comes standard in both Delphi
Client/Server and C++ Builder Client/Server.
