Abstract: Possible causes for the error
The problem has to do with installing InterBase 4.2 on Windows NT 3.51.
By double clicking on the setup.exe, you get the error:
INTERNAL ERROR NEAR: IBCHECK.
Here are some possible causes of this error:
1. There is no Boot drive on the machine (this is probably not the case,
but if there is some 3rd party boot manager or partition software on the
machine it might interfere with this api call).
2. The path information in the windows registry is corrupt (this is more
likely the cause). The customer might be able to use regedit
(or call Microsoft ) to fix this problem.
* Check the registry key HKEY_Current_User/Environment and see if the setting
PATH is a string value & not binary or hex value. Also, check that the PATH is
not longer than 128 characters. If It shows up as non-ascii then it may be
