Plum Hall test suite query
The Plum Hall test suite results query application originally published for C++Builder 4 has been updated with the results for C++Builder 5 and 6. You can find the article about the original results at
http://bdn.borland.com/article/1,1410,10047,00.html. This article explains the background on the Plum Hall test suite.
|C++ Builder 6.02||5.6.1||passes 4038 out of 4396 tests for a total of 91.86%|
|C++ Builder 6||5.6||passes 4037 out of 4396 tests for a total of 91.83%|
|C++ Builder 5||5.5||passes 4019 out of 4396 tests for a total of 91.42%|
|C++ Builder 4||5.4||passes 4000 out of 4396 tests for a total of 90.99%|
Note: Our latest compiler is more compliant than these figures show. These test results do not include "negative" tests, which verify the compiler generates a valid diagnostic message for bad code. The version 6 compiler improves our recognition of invalid code, but the test results shown here do not reflect this information yet. If our automated reporting tool can be updated to report the results of these "negative" tests, I will update this article and the report database to show the new results.

If you would like to purchase a copy of the ANSI C++ specification document ISO/IEC 14882-1998, you can get it from the ANSI on-line store. This is the best document for explaining the Plum Hall test suite results for the Borland C++ compilers.
