jkaster: MarcoZ: "Is there going to be a Camtasia that shows how easy it would be to port TurboPad to Delphi .NET?" - Nick: Oh, what a great idea!

jkaster: I think one of my ctrl keys was stuck or something. tried to copy that URL 3 times

jkaster: Here's a Camtasia demo of a few things in the VCL that you might not know about or have taken a look at before.

jkaster: LizR: "as a hardened win32 person, other than ".net is the future" what does .net do for me that win32 didnt.. and/or can someone explain why/how interfaces work" - Allen: What .NET really gives you is a managed execution environment for increased security and robustness.

davidi: pachecoes: "and what is Borland's response on the win32 side for Web Development? (ala Intraweb)" - IntraWeb is a great solution for Win32/.NET development from one source/component framework. IntaWeb let's you work the way you work with RAD VCL development, and generates all of the client side javascript and html needed without having to deal with CSS, JavaScript, etc.

jkaster: holger: "Why did you forget to mention that .NET finally has language-independant interop? :-)" - david: Common Type system, common run-time ...

jkaster: I get a strange feeling to think about the # of years I've been programming now!

jkaster: LesK: "when is going to be updated? There are menu items "Articles" that do not link to anything." - david: I haven't put up article links yet. We're going to redo the site to be an actual explorer community site rather than the pre-announcement site.

jkaster: LizR: "how can I add a web service to my app, I found a thing that talked about how it uses xml etc but it didnt actually say how to make say a demo of a webservice to add a couple of numbers etc" - david: We'll talk about this during the upgrade-a-thon

jkaster: Hank: "Nick: Any news on Devco?" - david: no comment

aohlsson: COMAL. OMG. You just broke open a space in my memory that's been closed for a LONG time...

jkaster: iman: "I would like to see demo on adding a new personality. I would love to edit PHP with BDS" - allen: This is something that requires working closely with a partner. david: AutomatedQA built a personality for BDS

jkaster: LizR: "have you guys considered releasing a turbo explorer vm appliance?" - John: Liz, why don't you help us with that?

davidi: MarcoZ: "A question to the master of OTA: Is any of the OTA exposed via COM to outside COm clients like VBA?" - Allen answers, "Not currently"

jkaster: (Sorry about the sneeze, everyone. I did manage to cover my mic with my hand, at least!)

davidi: ldsandon: "The year end is coming, without news about DevCo. future our budget for Delphi is at danger!" - Sorry, we can't comment. But, send me an email so that I can have someone (maybe me) contact you to see if we can help with your budget issues.

jkaster: Nick Hodges' phone number: +1 831 431 1665

jkaster: MagnusFly: "Will next BDS version be named TDS (Turbo Developer Studio)? or is that a "no comment" question? Also, any news on release date? like Q1 or Q2 next year?" - nick: Developer Studio, but we don't know what it will be called on the front. We expect to release Highlander in the first half of next year (2007).
