-sqlda old option no longer available with GRE on InterBase 6
Por: Quinn Wildman
Resumen: -sqlda old provided for backward compatibility between InterBase 5 and InterBase 4.
InterBase 4 had a data structure called SQLDA. InterBase 5 added fields to this data structure and called it XSQLDA instead. The -sqlda old command line argument for GPE is to allow applications built with InterBase 5 to use the old SQLDA data structure instead of the new XSQLDA data structure and therefore be able to be used with an InterBase 4 server, which does not know about the new data structure. The sqlda data structure was depricated with InterBase 5 and has been removed with the advent of InterBase 6. The only functionality lost by this removal is the abilty to create applications with GRE that will work with an Interbase 4 server.
