You must have exclusive access to a database before validating it

Abstract: The error that occurs when validating a database and you don't have exclusive access is different than documented.
Q. I'm using GFIX to validate my database and I'm getting the following error:
bad parameters on attach or create database
-secondary server attachments cannot validate databases
What does this error mean?
A. This error means you don't have exclusive access to the database. Note that the Operations Guide manual states that when you attempt to do a validate on a database and you do not have exclusive access the error you get is:
OBJECT database_name IS IN USE
