Embarcadero to Present “Do You C What I C?: The Resurgence of Native Application Development” at the Annual Silicon Valley Code Camp

SAN FRANCISCO — Oct. 3, 2012 — Embarcadero Technologies announced today that John “JT” Thomas, Director of Product Management will present the session “Do You C What I C?: The Resurgence of Native Application Development with C/C++” at Silicon Valley Code Camp on Sunday, October 7th , 2012 at 9:15 am. The event will be held at Foothill College in Los Altos, California.

Thomas will discuss C++ and its renewed usage in the high-growth mobile application development market with emphasis on the iOS and Android platforms. The session will cover the brief history of C/C++, its renewed importance in modern application development with current frameworks, new C++11 language features, and vendor language extensions.

Silicon Valley Code Camp is a new type of event where developers learn from fellow developers. The two-day event is free. Thomas has more than 15 years of product management and product development experience including hands-on experience with the early versions of Delphi and C++Builder at Borland Software. Most recently Thomas has held product management positions at mobile Linux vendor MontaVista Software and at Research in Motion. While at Borland he was a delegate on the ANSI/ISO C++ standards committee. He earned his Computer Science degree from University of California, Santa Cruz and his MBA and MSE from San Jose State University.
