David,I think Borland's decision is not the best one. I think over the years,Delphi was a good tool to promote Borland as a company on the market.I think what Borland is missing is marketing and a strategy for competition over Microsoft. Borlad should focus on Universities and Educational Institutions.Go Borland, keep movin'.....

Like David I., I fell in love with Turbo Pascal V 1.0 and have been using Borland's Pascal compilers ever since. I and a handful of other programmers on my team have spent over 20 years writing a gigantic application in Delphi. I have bet the farm on Delphi. I have been disappointed that Delphi still does not have full CF support and has fallen a bit behind in a few respects, but overall Delphi is still more elegant and a better software development environment than Visual Studio and other development tools. I hope that David I. and the rest of the team develop an even greater focused effort on Delphi and push even further ahead rather than jump ship. Don't give up and keep moving forward - your products are better than MicroSoft's - please focus on the IDE product line and continue to move forward!!!!! - A loyal but concerned Delphi programmer.

David, no one can trust in Borland or DevCo longer. I, as part of the community from D2 to D7, bought D8 and D2005, and all my money for that was lost without any use. What you did was near to fraud. Give me D2006 or D2007 for free otherwise I will never come back to Borland/DevCo. Please answer substantially! Volker

I have been working with Delphi for ages now and I think you are doing a very big mistake the same as you change Borland to Inprise and come back !I think your CEO is as stupid as the one who do this mistake !You know you are the best in IDE and the best people who were working and created Delphi now are working by Micro$oft so sell Delphi to Micro$oft at least. RIP Borland !

Yep I would say that exactly, kinda reminds me of the furore over all the devs saying we want delphi for linux and made a big fuss over it, yet how many copies of Kylix actually shifted? Wasnt a great success in commercial terms thats for sure.Ive been a dev with Delphi since D1 and a strong advocate although I have recently gone to the dark side, why? Well its funny I spoke to someone I used to work for and they said they were impressed with D2005, to which I said I didnt like it for all the reasons I loved delphi in the first place, lightweight and fast IDE which has now been replaced by a lumbering giant so close to VS.NET that I might as well use VS.NET and have better plug-in support for additional technologies like reporting services.Sorry guys, I never thought I would leave the fold but I have and I wont be coming back.Gary
