Abstract: Learn about ASP.NET User-Role based Authorization and designing a real-world example using ECO II
Presented by: Holger Flick
In the ASP.NET forms authentication episode and the ASP.NET forms validation and encryption episode, you learned about authentication. This episode will help you to understand the ASP.NET Authorization process using user roles as an example. It is important, however, that you understand ASP.NET Authentication and UML for the ECO portion of this episode.
You will also see how to design an ECO Model that will be used to authorize users. Furthermore, detailed explanations will be given how to put ECO Models in a DLL and how to set up an ASP.NET ECO Application that connects to an InterBase database. Using the same model, a Winforms Application will be created to administer the user accounts, using the same data storage. Be sure to watch this episode, as it gives you the basis for ECO-powered Web pages with dynamic content, which changes based on which user has logged in.
