By: Boz Elloy

Abstract: Boz Elloy, Borland's Senior Vice President of Products talks about maximizing the business value of software in an article that appears in SD Times magazine.

Boz Elloy, Borland's Senior Vice President of Products, has written an article in the December 1, 2004 SD Times magazine, titled "Tying the Art to Its Business". The article discusses how the world's leading companies "are focused on driving business benefit from software, throughout their organizations, and right to the bottom line." The invited article appears in the Editorials and Opinions section of the magazine.

The SD Times article is a follow up to Boz's 2004 Borland Conference San Jose California keynote, "Maximizing the Business Value of Software". The increasing complexity of software development combined with the pervasive importance that software plays today as part of everyday business operations, requires a new approach to driving the predictability and reliability of software projects. With the right approach, organizations can ensure that their software development efforts expand opportunities (increase revenue), reduce costs, reduce risk, optimize quality, and accelerate time to market.
