This month, Borland announces sweeping new concepts in application lifecycle
management resulting from several recent acquisitions. The first integrated
product release is the result of the acquisition of TogetherSoft, a leading
provider of platform-neutral, design-driven development solutions. New
Borland Together Edition for JBuilder and Borland Enterprise Studio 5 for
Java provide Borland customers with a new approach to application lifecycle
management, uniquely breaking down the barriers that prevent people and
technology from working together. The Borland approach integrates analysis,
design, development, testing, and deployment technologies to accelerate the
time it takes to develop and deploy business applications.

*** BORLAND APPOINTS GEORGE PAOLINI TO HEAD INDUSTRY-LEADING JAVA TEAM ***
Borland recently announced George Paolini, former vice president of marketing
at Sun Microsystems, has joined its management team as vice president and
general manager of its Java Business Unit. Paolini's appointment underscores
the Borland commitment to deliver industry-leading Java solutions that
accelerate software development.

Paolini now leads all research and development, product management, product
marketing and business development activities in support of JBuilder, the
number one Java development solution, and Optimizeit, widely recognized as
one of the best performance assurance solutions for Java. He succeeds Tony de
la Lama, recently appointed to vice president and general manager of the
Borland Together Business Unit.
