Borland presents Java and C++ solutions at Symbian Developer Conference

Within 5 years the majority of internet access will be via mobile devices, according to forecasts from the Computer Industry Almanac. In many countries users will first experience the internet through their mobile phone.

Borland is actively preparing for the mass introduction of mobile wireless devices, with both C++ and Java development solutions.

The Symbian OS has been selected for the development of 2.5G and 3G phones by many mobile manufacturers, including Motorola, Nokia, Panasonic, Samsung, Siemens and Sony Ericsson. Symbian OS offers developers the choice of C++ and Java, hence it is an obvious target for Borland tools and developers.

Borland will be presenting both our JBuilder MobileSet and introducing C++ Builder MobileSet at Symbian Developer Expo in London on April 23rd and 24th.

The Symbian Developer Expo is billed as "where the mobile industry meets to create the future". There will be a number of application development workshops, for Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones, along with tracks on new technologies, services, multimedia and connectivity.

Symbian offers Borland developers a 150 UKP discount off the full conference price - simply enter the code, DVL02/71, at registration.
