By: John Kaster

Abstract: Borland has announced support for .NET development, and reveals our .NET support strategy

We have created a new area of our Borland web site dedicated to information about Borland's strategy to support the Microsoft .NET platform. You can go to http://www.borland.com/net/ to learn how Borland will provide development support for the .NET platform in all our IDE products.

You can see the press release on our site, or on Yahoo.

From the site:

The Borland strategy for the Microsoft .NET platform features award-winning application development environments such as Borland Delphi, Borland C++Builder, Borland Kylix and Borland JBuilder, that support the capabilities of the Microsoft .NET Framework, including ASP.NET and application interoperability through XML Web Services. Borland's full support of the .NET platform, with the industry's first products to feature Web Services support, provides developers a fast and productive path for leveraging existing skills and IT investments to gain the many benefits of .NET. During the second half of 2002, Borland plans to release development products that support the .NET platform optimized on Intel® Architecture.

Some technical questions are also answered in the FAQ that is also posted on this site.

More information will be provided on our .NET strategy web site as we have it available.
