Tools players eye cross-platform Web services

Abstract: InfoWorld's Tom Sullivan talks to Alison Deane about Borland cross-platform Web Services

"Borland's Web services strategy is about bridging the gap between the two worlds of Windows and Unix. With our C++ tools, you'll be able to create cross-platform applications," said Alison Deane, senior director of product marketing at Borland, in Scotts Valley, Calif.

"When used with Borland's Kylix platform and Delphi tools, C++ Builder allows developers to build applications or Web services on Windows, move it over to Linux, recompile, and then run that application on Linux", according to Deane.
