<content>@George:  I agree, but some people do not.@Kevin:  I was using D5 and SQL 7 or 2000, I forget.  Perhaps the Server side cursor ruined things...@Don:  My God!? <content>When I tried &quot;DisableControls&quot; in D7 (MS SQL Server 7) with TADODataSet, it made no difference in the performance of a simple While Next... This was with settings of clUseServer, ctOpenForwardOnly and ltReadOnly.When I changed the settings to clUseServer, ctKeySet, ltOptimistic then everything slowed down by a factor of 30 with controls enabled or not.Kevin</content>
