New Educational Pricing Brings Cross-Platform Development and Web Services to Colleges and Universities

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif., July 3, 2001 - Borland Software Corporation (Nasdaq NM: BORL), a leading provider of e-business implementation platform solutions, today announced new educational pricing for its suite of award-winning rapid application development (RAD) environments -- Borland® Delphi™6 and Kylix™, as well as its number one rated Java™ development environment -- Borland® JBuilder™. Borland now offers educational editions of these products at special prices for colleges and universities to instruct students using best of breed development environments and to introduce cross-platform solutions to students before they enter the work force.

Borland JBuilder 5 Enterprise Educational edition and the Professional Educational edition are available at $399.95 and $99.95 respectively.
