Borland appoints former Congressional budget chair John R.
Kasich to board of directors
John R. Kasich served nine terms as representative from Ohio and chaired
the House Budget Committee.
Borland Software Corp., the leading provider of e-business implementation
platforms, announced today the appointment of former Congressman John R. Kasich,
48, to the company's board of directors. The addition increases Borland's board
membership to seven.
Kasich served nine terms as a congressional representative from the state of
Ohio and was a member of the National Security Committee for 18 years. As chairman
of the House Budget Committee, he was the chief architect of the plan that
balanced the federal budget and eliminated the federal deficit in 1997. Kasich
is currently a managing director in Lehman Brothers' investment banking group,
where he is responsible for a range of industry groups, including healthcare,
power and utilities, and financial institutions.
