Sun targets Linux gadgets
Releases new version of Java for embedded systems at LinuxWorld.
Sun is lukewarm about Linux but it's gung-ho about Java. So the company used
LinuxWorld as an excuse to introduce a "connected device" version of
Java for Linux. It's intended for use in set-top boxes, in-car computers, home
servers, and other embedded systems.
