Abstract: InterBase is not certified for a v5 client to talk to a v3.3 server.
Problem:
When connecting from a V5.x client on a NT machine to a Unix machine
running InterBase v3.3, got this error"
Database: pooka:/usr/interbase/examples/atlas.gdb
Statement failed, SQLCODE = -923
connection rejected by remote interface
Solution:
InterBase is not certified for a v5 client to talk to a v3.3 server.
Here are some possible workarounds:
* Migrate the v3.3 database to either v4 or v5.
* If the server is residing on a platform with bridging functionality
such as HP9 and Solaris, upgrade the InterBase version to v4 so that it
can utilize the v4-to-v3 bridge on connect.
