16 bit ODBC driver won't handle column or table aliases

By: Borland Staff

Abstract: Customer needs to have ODBC connectivity to access an InterBase database with 16 bit Crystal Reports.

Problem:
Customer needs to have ODBC connectivity to access
an InterBase database with 16 bit Crystal Reports. The
16 bit ODBC driver from Intersolv (blint04.dll or blint07.dll)
does not support table or column aliases (correlational names).

Solution:
The information in this article applies to:
* InterBase WS-V4.0C

This is a known bug that has a work around if they are
running Windows 95: The 32 bit Visigenic driver
will work with 16 bit Crystal Reports and supports
correlational names. This won't work for Windows 3.1.
In this case the only solution is to upgrade to Windows 95.
