Reorganizes Sales Force
SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. - October 18, 1999 -- As part of its ongoing commitment to helping companies conduct business on the Internet, Inprise Corporation (Nasdaq: INPR) today announced the appointment of John Walshe to chief operating officer. Mr. Walshe will be responsible for the company's sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing operations. In addition, the company also announced a reorganization of its sales force into four regions. The following will now serve as vice presidents of sales, overseeing the following regions: Thomas Torf, United States; Kevin Cornell, Canada and Americas (Mexico and Latin America); Gidi Schmidt, Europe; and Ray Bradbery, Asia.
"John Walshe's extensive information technology background makes him a perfect fit for Inprise," said Dale Fuller, interim president and CEO. "John will be instrumental in remodeling, refining, and expanding our sales force model domestically and abroad."
Walshe has over twenty years of experience, most recently as the vice president of program management and chief information officer for Manufacturers' Services Limited, a major contract electronics manufacturer. Walshe previously was a consultant with Computer Sciences Corporation, where he specialized in operations management and information systems management. His clients included Compaq, Sun Microsystems, and Dell Computer Corporation.
